Meet Craig Moore, who started his career as an apprentice at ���ϲ����� and is now a Master Technician, who has enjoyed stints in Australia and as an Escalation Technician. What drives Craig is his desire to help his customers and peers. This is his story.

Craig was always destined to work on heavy vehicles, as his grandfather and his father before worked in the trade.

��

Keen to forge a path of his own, Craig fed his hunger for knowledge by getting into the nitty gritty of how each vehicle works. This desire created the chance to go to ���ϲ����� Australia. While there he learnt a lot about rebuilding and modifying engines and gearboxes.

��

“I like to push myself and my knowledge,” says Craig. “I want to be stripping and rebuilding engines, gearboxes, final drives. I want to be into the guts of it, elbow deep in grease.”

��

When he returned to Scotland, Craig forged a reputation as the go-to person when it comes to solving complex mechanical issues, especially around Power Solutions drivetrains. His expert advice and guidance is often sought, but not just in Scotland or across the UK, but also globally.

��

His charisma and passion are infectious, which is why sharing his knowledge with others is so natural. And why he relishes the chance to attend a breakdown at 3am or jet across Europe to fix a luxury yacht.

��

All that matters to Craig is getting our customers on their way as soon as he can.

“I thrive on assisting customers and teaching others. They view you as a superstar, because you’re the one that helped them when they required help the most.”

Jodie has been with ���ϲ����� GB for just over a year, working as Personal Assistant to both the UK Sales Director and the Transformation Director. Her role is fast-paced and diverse, combining strategic coordination, daily operations, and cross-functional support. It’s this variety that keeps her motivated and constantly evolving.

A standout aspect of her experience so far has been the people. From her very first day, Jodie felt welcomed and supported by her colleagues. “I’m incredibly lucky to work with a team of amazing people who made me feel at home from day one” she says. That sense of belonging, collaboration, and mutual respect has been central to her journey and growth at ���ϲ�����.

Beyond her core responsibilities, Jodie is also a Sustainability Champion, supporting our commitment to environmental responsibility. From encouraging greener workplace practices to engaging colleagues in sustainability initiatives, she’s proud to be part of a movement that aligns with her values and makes a positive impact.

Jodie’s career path has been refreshingly varied and this broad background gives her a flexible, people-first approach that fits well within ���ϲ�����’s collaborative culture.

One of the most meaningful aspects of her journey has been the way individuality is celebrated across the business. “It’s not just about your skills and experience, it’s about what you bring as a person. Being yourself here isn’t just accepted, it’s encouraged,” she says.

Her experience joining the company only reinforced that feeling. The recruitment process, she recalls, was warm, engaging, and professional setting the tone for the inclusive and empowering environment she’s now proud to be a part of.

Outside of work, Jodie balances a full family life, a love for live music, and time with friends, always bringing her trademark energy and positivity wherever she goes.

From the moment he could hold a wrench, Brian was drawn to the mechanics of machines. Growing up in a household where his dad was the go-to man for fixing anything, Brian naturally followed in his footsteps. He spent his childhood watching, learning, and eventually getting his hands dirty, developing an innate ability to take things apart and put them back together, always striving to improve them.

As a young man, Brian’s first love was cars, especially fast hatches. His passion for mechanics took him deep into the world of car repairs and modifications, but breaking into the industry proved challenging. On his father’s advice, he shifted gears to heavy-duty vehicles, a decision that changed the course of his career.

��

In 1999, Brian secured an apprenticeship at a local haulage contractor. Here, he gained a solid foundation in truck maintenance, working alongside experienced technicians who passed down their expertise. From stripping brakes to painting wheels, he embraced every task, hungry to learn. But he soon outgrew the role and moved on.

��

He joined ���ϲ����� in 2006, a move that would take him across the globe. At ���ϲ�����’s Dundee branch, he thrived, relishing the challenge of diagnosing, and repairing complex mechanical issues. However, his restless spirit and desire to see the world led him to an unexpected opportunity—a role in India.

��

Leaving home for the first time, Brian took on a new challenge: training and mentoring local mechanics in ���ϲ�����’s growing Indian market. The experience was transformative. He adapted to a new culture, overcame the challenges of working in extreme conditions, and saw firsthand how different the industry operated abroad. His natural ability to mentor others became evident, as he effortlessly passed on his knowledge to young technicians eager to learn.

After more than four years of globetrotting, Brian made the tough decision to return home. It was time to settle back in Scotland. Though his return wasn’t seamless, he found work with ���ϲ����� once again and continued his passion for truck maintenance.

��

Most recently, Brian’s dedication and expertise were recognised when he was named the 2025 Scottish Irtec Technician of the Year at the Transport News Scottish Rewards ceremony. Acknowledged for his commitment to mentoring others and his vast knowledge of vehicle maintenance, Brian stood among his peers, proud of the journey that had brought him to this moment.

Today, Brian is still enjoying life at ���ϲ����� Dundee, bringing his vast experience and knowledge to the team, and tales of his adventures! His ability to mentor and develop young technicians is invaluable, and he plays a crucial role in helping the next generation of technicians refine their skills.

Sometimes the best moves happen when the timing feels uncertain. For Damian, taking a bold leap and joining ���ϲ����� in May 2020, right in the heart of a challenging and unpredictable year, launched an exciting new chapter in his career.

Starting as a National Support Manager, Damian soon became a key member of the team supporting the North region, while also managing several national fleet accounts. His role was all about close teamwork with local branches and customers, delivering proactive support and keeping operations running smoothly. It was a fast-paced, hands-on role that perfectly showcased ���ϲ�����’s people-first culture.

��

By early 2024, Damian stepped up as Customer Support Manager, now leading the very team he once worked alongside. This promotion brought fresh challenges, a wider business perspective, and the chance to collaborate across multiple departments, broadening his impact even further.

��

Before ���ϲ�����, Damian built an impressive career from Technician to Workshop Controller at TruckEast Northampton, then Branch Manager at Keltruck Groby. That solid experience laid the groundwork, but it was his drive to keep growing and learning that pushed him into this exciting new role.

��

While there have been many smaller wins along the way such as strengthening relationships, solving tough problems and supporting the dealer network, stepping into this senior role remains Damian proudest milestone so far.

��

His advice to anyone considering ���ϲ�����? “Go for it. The company offers loads of opportunities to grow, whether you want to build your career in the UK or even explore roles abroad. With the right mindset and support, the possibilities are endless.”

Looking back, Damian says it best: “Making the right decision during uncertain times was tough, but it’s the best move I’ve ever made.”

Meet Emily Hardy, who loves challenging herself and her understanding, and has recently been promoted to Account Manager (Services) for our North Region.

She explains how provided you have the drive, ���ϲ����� UK can open doors to limitless opportunities.

Having taken a customer service apprenticeship via a doctor’s surgery, as a teenager, Emily has been shaping and curating her career to put the customer first. Whether they’re a patient, a driver, an associate or a customer.

��

After trying her hand at numerous jobs, an opportunity to work for ���ϲ����� arose and piqued her interest. From joining in 2019, Emily has been on quite the journey within the business.

��

She started out in Sales Admin, before moving on to become a Service Advisor at Darlington. She stayed within the Services team as she moved closer to home at Newcastle. And recently has gone full circle to return to sales as Account Manager (Services).

��

Four moves in four years may not be for everyone, but Emily says she loves a challenge, and ���ϲ����� UK has allowed her to progress the way she wants to, and with the support of her colleagues.

��

“It's reassuring to know that what you are striving for and envisioning in a job can be achieved,” she said. “The managers I’ve had, have all supported me moving and they understand. That’s really reassuring – that what you’re doing is normal and right.

��

“Having moved through a few jobs in ���ϲ�����, I still feel very much part of the family. They’re always supporting you all the way because they want you to stay and want you to move up and progress. I’ve never felt that way at any other company.”

Ryan's journey into the world of mechanics was driven by pure passion and curiosity rather than family tradition or expectation. From a young age, he was interested in how things worked. This natural curiosity led him to take a leap of faith when he was offered industry work experience during his final year of school. That provided a glimpse into a world he knew he wanted to be part of, confirming his decision to apply for an ��apprenticeship.

��

Choosing to start his career this way was one of the most crucial decisions Ryan ever made. It placed him in a structured learning environment where he could develop technical skills while gaining real-world experience. However, the apprenticeship was about more than just mechanics - it was a foundation for personal and professional growth.

��

Ryan quickly realised that asking questions and seeking guidance were just as important as technical expertise. He remembers his early days of not even knowing how to check oil and acknowledges the humility required to admit what he didn’t know. Yet, through persistence and a willingness to learn, he developed not just mechanical skills but also problem-solving abilities, adaptability, and confidence.

The journey from apprentice to branch manager was challenging but immensely rewarding. Looking back, Ryan takes pride in his growth—not just in career progression but in his ability to manage people, tackle challenges strategically, and think critically.

One of the greatest joys of his career has been mentoring apprentices who, like him, are taking their first steps in the industry. Watching them develop skills and achieve success has been one of the most fulfilling aspects of his role.

��

Ryan’s story is a testament to the power of starting right. His apprenticeship provided hands-on experience and real-world insights that a classroom alone couldn’t offer. He firmly believes apprenticeships offer an invaluable path for those passionate about a trade, equipping them with the tools for success.

His advice? Pursue your passion wholeheartedly, work hard, and never be afraid to ask questions—because every expert was once a beginner.

Meet Sally Johnson, who’s worked her way up to become Branch Manager at Darlington. But what makes her story special is, she’s our first female Branch Manager at ���ϲ����� UK, and her secret? Be true to yourself.

After falling in love with the heavy vehicle industry through various roles, Sally has been keen to grasp any opportunity with two hands, and experience and learn as much as she can along the way.

��

Whether that’s as a Service Advisor or managing a customer’s workshop – she’s picked up valuable skills and experiences that would stand her in good stead for a role as a senior leader.

��

When single parent Sally re-joined ���ϲ����� to continue her career, progression was firmly on her mind. And while she believed she could be a Branch Manager one day – the chance presented itself sooner than she anticipated.

��

In 2020, she took the reins of the Leeds team, before moving on to Darlington, to oversee a bigger team and patch for ���ϲ����� UK.

��

She said: “At the time the excitement was unbelievable. I hadn’t even realised that I was the only female Branch Manager! It was where I wanted to be, and I something to work towards.”

��

When asked how she adapted to being a Branch Manager, she said: “I just picked up my personality and took it with me and made my mark wherever I went next.

��

“I’m a firmer believer in being adaptable as a person, but your personality is what makes you who you are. And ���ϲ����� lets me be myself every day.”

Meet Ged Nairn, Branch Manager in Dundee. He joined us with one ambition – to climb the career ladder. This is his story.

��

Ged joined ���ϲ����� with a wealth of experience repairing and maintaining vehicles, from starting out as an apprentice for Volkswagen, to working for the US Army. And most recently Strathclyde Fire Service – where he kept their ���ϲ����� fire engines in tip-top condition.��

��

Keen to progress his career and develop his knowledge, there was only one brand he wanted to join. Once he became a ���ϲ����� technician, he thought he’d have to impress to progress.

��

But as Ged explains, that wasn’t the case: “Before I knew it, I’ve rebuilt an engine and replaced a clutch in a bus. These are jobs I’ve never undertaken.

��

“Getting those jobs early on was a boost, because it showed trust in my ability.”

��

From then on, he realised all he needed to do was grab the opportunities as they arose. That’s exactly what he did. He went from Technician to Workshop Services Manager before becoming Branch Manager.

��

He was also given the opportunity to do a secondment under the wing of a Regional Director, who had followed a similar path as Ged.��

��

This was crucial in shaping his understanding of the business and his managerial style. Plus it gave him a taste of what it’s like to be a Regional Director at ���ϲ�����.

��

Ged’s advice to anyone is: “If you want to take your career to the next step, take yourself out of your comfort zone. Put yourself in that position to prove your ability and to see how good you’re at your job.

��

Meet Emma, a leader whose career is defined by growth, purpose, and impact. Since joining in 2015, Emma has steadily progressed from Regional Accountant, then to Head of Finance and Control, and now plays a key role in shaping ���ϲ�����’s strategic direction as our Business Operations Director.

��

Emma’s connection to ���ϲ����� runs deep. As the daughter of a retired HGV driver, she grew up familiar with the brand’s reputation for quality. What drew her in, and keeps her inspired, is our strong values and our genuine support for people.

��

A key part of Emma’s journey has been achieving balance. As a mother of five, she more than understands the challenge of juggling a demanding role with busy family life. Thanks to ���ϲ�����’s flexibility, family friendly policies and supportive culture, she’s been able to thrive on both fronts.

��

Now in a senior leadership role, Emma finds fulfilment in helping others succeed. Mentoring, leading teams, and watching colleagues grow continue to be some of the most rewarding aspects of her career.
