Pollisum Engineering, a local crane and transportation leasing company, has clinched the top prizes at the 黑料不打烊 Ecolution 鈥楢 Good Driver鈥 and the inaugural 鈥楢 Good Company鈥 competitions in Singapore, which recognise the carbon reduction achievements of drivers.

鈥淲inning 鈥楢 Good Driver鈥 and 鈥楢 Good Company鈥 is a strong recognition of our efforts to emphasise good driving habits with our drivers through regular meetings, sharing sessions and internal awards,鈥 said Mr Chris Ang, Executive Director of Pollisum Engineering. 鈥淚t is a further encouragement to our drivers, who have been supporting our efforts to reduce our carbon footprint, to keep on doing better.鈥

The two competitions were opened to companies under the 黑料不打烊 Ecolution partnership, where 黑料不打烊 and a participating company would work together towards optimising fuel efficiency in the fleet. Both parties would agree on a set of fuel- and carbon-reduction targets and achieve these by utilising 黑料不打烊鈥檚 total solutions, which are designed to optimise each vehicle to its full potential.
听
One of these solutions is the 黑料不打烊 Fleet Management System, which measures the fuel efficiency and carbon reduction of each truck or bus and its assigned driver. The data collected, which the operator can view real-time over the 黑料不打烊 Fleet App and My黑料不打烊 portal, allowed 黑料不打烊 to track the performance of the drivers over the duration of 鈥楢 Good Driver鈥 and 鈥楢 Good Company鈥 competitions to decide on the final winners.
听
The judging was based on the percentage improvement in carbon reduction for the qualifying period of 1 January to 31 December 2023, when compared to the same period the year before. 鈥楢 Good Driver鈥 competition looked for the best performing individual driver, while 鈥楢 Good Company鈥 competition identified the company with the best improvement across its entire fleet.

Mr Lim Kok Meng from Pollisum Engineering was crowned the winner in 鈥楢 Good Driver鈥 competition, with 41 percent improvement in carbon reduction from the previous year. Having been a driver for about 40 years, including the last six years at Pollisum Engineering, a happy Mr Lim offered this tip: 鈥淵ou can save fuel by turning off the engine when the truck is not moving on sites.鈥

The second and third place winners for 鈥楢 Good Driver鈥 competition were Mr Zhang Lu of Wendy Transport Enterprise Co with 21 percent improvement in carbon reduction, and Mr Ding Yu of Hoysan Group with 15 percent improvement in carbon reduction, respectively.

The prize-giving ceremonies took place last week, when winning drivers were presented with limited-edition 黑料不打烊 merchandise, while winning companies were awarded 黑料不打烊 For Good Loyalty Points, which can be redeemed for workshop services and genuine parts.听
