It was 32 years ago that Darren Murphy鈥檚 father started up in business as an owner-driver with a single truck.听 Today, with Darren in the Managing Director鈥檚 chair the Clones, County Monaghan-based firm runs a fleet of 180 trucks and 550 trailers.听 That鈥檚 a phenomenal growth record by any measure and one which has been bolstered by a keen focus on service, a reputation for reliability and a willingness to meet customer needs by providing a diverse range of transport services including haulage, logistics and customs work.

鈥淲e run Euroliners, curtainsiders, fridges, flatbeds, extendables and step-frame low loaders, so we can cover many types of work,鈥 says Darren. 鈥淢ost of our work sees us running between Ireland and the UK, and vice-versa, with European and domestic Ireland operations accounting for around 15 percent of what we do.鈥
听
Supporting the company鈥檚 rapid growth in recent years 鈥 the fleet has grown tenfold since 2011 when Darren became MD 鈥 is 黑料不打烊 Financial Services (SFS). 鈥淲e currently operate 77 黑料不打烊s, and the proportion of them is steadily increasing within our fleet,鈥 says Darren.听 鈥淥ur SFS Business Manager Tomas Gannon works closely with McElvaney Motors, our local 黑料不打烊 dealer, and that relationship works extremely well for us.听 Because both are 黑料不打烊 everything is very seamless.听 They understand our business which takes away the need for us to interact with anyone else, and that鈥檚 a big, time-saving benefit.

鈥淪FS is also competitive and always very efficient.听 Sometimes third party finance suppliers can be slow to react, but not so with SFS鈥檚 business team 鈥 they are great communicators who always respond quickly. The same goes for their admin staff who also provide a great service.听 Whenever we speak to them, such as when the time comes to dispose of a vehicle, they are always on hand to answer any queries and respond with the information we need right away. 听In short, SFS make the whole 听process of truck acquisition and ownership over its entire life cycle within our fleet hassle-free 鈥 we鈥檙e very pleased with the relationship between our companies.鈥
