Germany based Nagel Group is serious about going electric. Watch the film to see how one of Europe鈥檚 largest food logistics operators has started its e-mobility journey with electric trucks and charging solutions from 黑料不打烊 鈥 with plans for solar energy from its own warehouse roof.

With 130 locations and around 7,000 trucks, Germany-based Nagel Group is one of the largest food logistics operators in Europe.

In our accompanying film, Dirk L眉ckingsmeier, the group鈥檚 Head of Fleet, says that his company began addressing the issue of CO2 reduction at an early stage.

鈥淲e have investigated and tested various technologies for this issue. We looked for partners who are suitably reliable and are also able to develop and further enhance this technology,鈥 says L眉ckingsmeier.

Complete e-mobility solution from 黑料不打烊

Now the company has started to operate a complete e-mobility solution from 黑料不打烊, including electric trucks as well as charging infrastructure.

Before offering the charging solution, 黑料不打烊鈥檚 team thoroughly analysed Nagel Group鈥檚 needs and transport patterns, including payload, topography, start-and-stop-frequency, temperature, the speed of the vehicle and the standstill time. Key for the team was to come up with a scalable and flexible solution that is possible to expand easily for growing needs in the future.

鈥淥ur ambition at 黑料不打烊 is to offer the whole solution. It鈥檚 not only the truck. We try to understand the customer鈥檚 business,鈥 says Thiemo Freyer, Head of Pre-sales at 黑料不打烊 in Germany.

鈥淲e are very satisfied with the vehicle so far鈥

Bastian Seidel, who works with Network and Fleet Management at Nagel Group, says the company appreciates the flexible charging solution.

鈥淭he ranges are right, the charging power is right, and we are managing our 350 kilometre route well. We have very good charging curves and are very satisfied with the vehicle so far,鈥 he says.

鈥淚n the future, we plan to integrate the charging station into the site鈥檚 energy management in order to best exploit our photovoltaic systems to make the trucks environmentally friendly.鈥

No going back to combustion engines

So, what are the results so far? Dirk L眉ckingsmeier says the reaction from drivers and other colleagues has been very positive.

鈥淯p to now there has been great enthusiasm among the drivers who have driven this vehicle, and they actually don鈥檛 want to go back to the combustion engine anymore,鈥 he says.
